  • Hamilton Beach Commercial

    Hamilton Beach Commercial (14)

Hamilton Beach® Commercial represents a long tradition of innovative products. When Louis H. Hamilton and Chester Beach teamed up in the early 1900s, little did they know that their collaboration would lead to more than 100 years of industry firsts that would span homes and businesses around the globe. One early milestone was Beach’s perfection of a universal electric motor that could operate on both alternating and direct current. This patented motor was used to power sewing machines and other ingenious attachments, thereby ending the era of the treadle sewing machine and other muscle-powered chores such as mixing. Over the years, Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Beach pioneered and successfully marketed many products under the Hamilton Beach name. They included electric fans, glass washers, vacuum cleaners, and many more products — all of which ultimately made life easier and more enjoyable. Another invention by Hamilton Beach® is still a staple today — the electric drink mixer. Owning one is like owning a piece of history. Like the original drink mixer from 1911, all Hamilton Beach® Commercial products in today’s line are built with ingenuity, durability, and attention to detail.

  • Pitco

    Pitco (104)

In 1918 J. C. Pitman and Sons Hotel & Restaurant Equipment Manufacturers, while attempting to work out a more satisfactory method of frying, made some important discoveries. One was that if the small particles of food which ordinarily settled to the bottom of the French Fry pot (where they collected and burned) could be kept away from the intense heat of that part of the kettle, the quality of fried food could be greatly improved. The Pitco Frialator was invented on this basic principle - - and patented. This brought about a complete change in the method of deep fat frying. The fat medium was heated by tubes running through the center of the fat container. This construction permitted all sediment from the food being fried to drip below the heating tubes into a cool zone where it could not carbonize and break down the frying fat.

  • Victory Refrigeration

    Victory Refrigeration (41)

In 1944, Ray Constantini and Tony DiAngelis, two sheet metal craftsmen, opened Victory to contribute to America's war effort. Until the end of World War II, the Philadelphia-based company was a supplier of custom stainless steel products for the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. The Victory name was chosen by its founders as a patriotic reference to the objective of the war. Even before the war was over, Victory had begun producing refrigeration equipment for the rapidly expanding foodservice industry and established a reputation as an innovator and industry leader by pioneering new technologies that led to superior refrigeration performance. In the following years, Victory's original production output grew to become a sizeable manufacturing enterprise, prompting the company's relocation from its small neighborhood shop to a larger site on the historic Delaware River. Victory later moved to a more modern 125,000-square-foot facility in Plymouth Meeting, PA, before settling in its current location -- a 250,000-square-foot plant in Cherry Hill, NJ, just minutes from Philadelphia.

Through the early 20th century, both companies grew and continued to add product lines. • Winston Industries

    Winston Industries (19)

We’ve been manufacturing foodservice equipment for decades, and we admit we’ve been known to change direction over the years. While we aren’t perfect, one thing has remained constant: we understand the business and we get our customers. Winston Industries came into being because of a partnership with a famous Colonel when we developed a fryer specifically to meet the needs of his restaurants. We are returning to our roots by prioritizing customizable features and engineering over production equipment. What we do will be driven by our customers’ needs. Founder Winston Shelton left GE in the late 60s because of his entrepreneurial spirit and a driving need to create something. He designed a workhorse of a pressure fryer for a legendary restaurant operator, as well as the ability to franchise an entire system. He created a whole new class of cooking and holding equipment that others attempt to copy to this day. We’ve built upon this legacy because we believe in building partnerships with customers and because there is an entrepreneur in each of us. It’s the reason we’ve expanded our business – to perpetuate our entrepreneurial spirit and to provide the opportunity for others to do the same.
